Following a three-year term as president of IAC, Mario answered the call to reprise his leadership role. A father of two and grandfather of four, he has called Jacksonville home for thirty-five years. Mario retired from the federal government with twenty-nine years of civil service and is a US Air Force veteran of Viet Nam. Born in Bisceglie, Italy and a naturalized citizen, he is proud to be an Italian-American. A people person, the only thing Mario enjoys more than fishing and bowling is "spending time with my paisanos."

LIUCILLE GIARDINO CORTESE: TREASURER
Lucy was born in the Little Italy section of Paterson, NJ but lived in Jacksonville most of her life. She literally "grew up in IAC" and her fondest childhood memories include club functions at the beach, picnics at the Southside pavilion and the groundbreaking of our present facility. Lucy previously served the board as director, vice president, assistant treasurer and is happy to be recycled again as treasurer. A graduate of University of Florida and UNF, she has been a teacher, district administrator, school principal and executive director in a career spanning four decades. Many words describe this busy gal: freelance writer, community volunteer, avid traveler, beachcomber, Jags and Gator fan and lover of all things Italian. Lucy's greatest blessing is being the mother of two and grandmother of three bambini. Her favorite thing about IAC is "being able to continue the dream of my parents Angelo and Lucy, founding members of our club."
As a computer support person, Gina brings IT expertise to our board. Another Jersey Girl, she lived in Jacksonville for the past 20 years. Married with two sons, Gina enjoys a variety of family activities. She is a fan of greyhounds, music and cabins in the mountains when not volunteering at the club this past year. "The people...I just love them," Gina says about IAC, "feels like home when you are there!"

ANTHONY (TONY ) DI BENNEDETTO: BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Tony hails from Pizzone,Italy in the Province of Isernbia and the Region of Molise. He and his lovely wife Carol have two children and one grandchild. Jacksonville has been home for the last 10 years. For 49 years Tony has worked in Hospitality (in three -5 star Hotels ) and with Airlines (Pan Am and USAIR Express),in Chicago,Naples Fl. and Jacksonville.Working in manegement in the Airlines, his last position with USAIR Express was Director of Training in charge of 83 Stations throughout the US and the Bahamas. Tony's interests include putting together Music and Video projects. Active in our Club for two years, he recently joined the IAC board. Tony's favorite thing in the IAC are "The nice people and the Italian Memories".

MENA VESCE: BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Mena hails from the Big Apple with a charming Bronx accent, but lived most of her life in New Jersey. Married to hubby Lou, they have been active in IAC for 10 years. She has two children, three grandkids, and is great-grandmother to four. In addition to parenting, Mena has held many diversified jobs including administrative office assistant. This multi-talented gal sings with the voice of an opera soprano, Betty Crocker would envy her baking and she even has an interest in theater. Mena is happy to serve on the board again because of "...camaraderie, meeting new people and exploring our culture. I have made many good, loving friends."
